Four unbreakable guarantees. Not policies — architecture.
Because a policy can change. A well-built system cannot.
Guarantee 01
“Architecturally impossible. Not just a policy.”
Other AI services use your conversations to improve their models. MEOK doesn't. This isn't a terms-of-service promise that can be quietly changed — the system is built so that the model inference layer has no write-back path to your personal memory store. There is no mechanism to train on your data because we didn't build one.
Guarantee 02
“pgvector on YOUR server. Or ours — encrypted with keys only you hold.”
MEOK stores your memories as vector embeddings in pgvector — a PostgreSQL extension that enables fast semantic search. By default this runs on our servers, AES-256 encrypted with keys derived from your account credentials that we never store in plaintext. In H2 2026, self-hosted deployment means the database runs entirely on your own infrastructure — we never touch it.
Guarantee 03
“JSON + PDF. Complete history. No hostage data.”
Settings > Export. One click. You receive a ZIP file containing your entire MEOK history: every memory, every conversation, every goal, every character state. JSON for developers and applications. PDF for humans. Nothing withheld. No export fee. No waiting period. Your data belongs to you from the moment you create it.
Guarantee 04
“24-hour cascade. Cryptographic proof available.”
When you delete your account, a 24-hour cascade begins. Your pgvector embeddings are dropped. Your conversation history is shredded. Your files are zeroed. All associated backups are rotated within the same window. You can request a cryptographic deletion certificate — a signed record proving your data no longer exists on our infrastructure.
Privacy promises are meaningless if you can't understand them. Here's what the technical terms actually mean for you.
pgvector
How your memories are stored
pgvector is a PostgreSQL extension that stores data as mathematical vectors — essentially a set of numbers that represents meaning. When MEOK learns something about you, it converts that memory into a vector and stores it. When you ask a question, MEOK finds the most relevant memories by comparing vectors. It's fast, private, and runs in a standard database you can self-host or inspect.
AES-256
What encryption means for you
AES-256 is the encryption standard used by banks, governments, and militaries. It means your data is scrambled using a 256-bit key — a number so large it would take every computer on Earth billions of years to guess by brute force. Your MEOK key is derived from your password using PBKDF2 (600,000 rounds). We store the scrambled result. We don't store the key. If you lose your password, the data is unrecoverable — that's the point.
Key isolation
Why we can't read your data
Your encryption keys are never stored on our servers in a usable form. They're derived from your credentials at the moment you log in, used to decrypt data in memory, and then discarded. We can't hand your data to a government subpoena in readable form because we genuinely don't have the key. This is structural privacy — not a policy. A policy can change. An architecture constraint cannot.
Not a marketing comparison. An honest one.
